THOTful Thursday with Regan
The brief amount of time I got to spend with Regan was truly wonderful, she is an educated woman with professional standards who oozes positivity and knowledge. From my own personal interactions with her, I always get this sense of calm and understanding. If I had to compare her presence I would say she is akin to Mercy in Overwatch, a guiding angel who brings a sense of calm and safety, but can certainly clap with her sidearm if the need arises 🔫
That said, just like with gaming, you have the player and the character they select. For Regan, the same comparison can be made. There is the player, the professional, the IRL Regan; the character, is the creator-side of her. Join me as we dive into the mind of this intriguing woman and her double-sided life~
What is it like being a content creator?
I feel like I live two different lives, there is the me who is a professional in the “real world” and then there is the content creator. I grew up being very career driven, did everything “by-the-book”, I was the person that others expected me to be…
Being a creator allows me to be who I am under it all, who I really am. It can be difficult because the TOS (terms of service) on platforms are so different and difficult especially against sex workers, but on fan pages I can truly be who I want to be. I can embrace being myself and being accepted for who I am underneath it all.
Do you feel you’re judge more in your pro field vs being a creator?
I get judged in both areas of my life, but the judgement is different. My friends and family know what I do, but in my professional life… I haven’t shared that with anyone because I hear the way they talk about creators or I see how they respond to that lifestyle.
I take it all in and listen to what those people say, I try to be a little less opinionated on sex work while at work so as to not bring attention onto myself. I don’t want my content creation to become the focus and derail the work I do professionally. If people in my field found out about what I do, they will forget everything I have done, and the only focus for them will be the fact that I sell nudes.
Do you think the stigma on sex will ever lessen, if so, how?
It will never go away and I don’t think it’ll lessen, it’ll just transition to a different part of the industry. As we transition onto different platforms, create different types of media, the stigma will “decrease” but truly it’s merely shifting.
Take the upcoming xxxNifty Metaverse, as we transition into that space you will inevitably have individuals complain that the adult industry is tainting the metaverse. I’ve already heard backlash on adult creators making NFTs.
Favorite horror of all time?
This changes like year-to-year, my current favorite The Conjuring franchise. The movies are based on real events and real people, the storyline is good, the way they’ve released the films, how cohesive they are, even the outliers like The Nun were still really good!
How many movies do you think is “good” enough for a franchise before cutting?
Depends on the plot of the movie, like Saw 3–4 movies would be enough, but Insidious… the first two movies are amazing, but after that it took a totally different turn.
In general, three movies max is probably good enough for a franchise, with special exceptions.
Do you think sometimes, in horror movies, people simply deserve to die?
Oh absolutely, 100%!
Do you think that you would survive in a horror movie situation?
Um… I- I’m pretty tenacious. I would say I would survive, at least the first film!
I’m thinking Scream as a baseline horror for this question, so I would definitely survive the first film because I have some survival skills that would keep me alive. However, I think my anxiety and stress would cause me to die in the second movie.
If you were a killer, what would be your MO?
Take the Zodiac Killer, not how he killed people, but more so how they were toyed with. I am an artist, so if I were a murderer I would do some Jackson Pollock painting with blood, become “The Pollock Killer” (image to one of his paintings linked for reference).
